County Working Day - Sept 2004

These pictures of the County working day organised by John Carruthers only give a hint of of how great a day it really was. The site was ideal, a large field with a steep slope to make the tractors work a little harder and a group of owners who were willing to put their machines to work. This event was not organised by the TECU but we thought you would enjoy the photos of this excellent event.

This was definitely one of the highlights of the day. Normally used for forestry work this County winched a 13ton excavator without the aid of a ground anchor in poor ground conditions. With more than a little smoke coming from the winch clutches the job was accomplished. It was decided to use a smaller digger next time though..... So they dug a hole and drove a mini digger in and the fun commenced, although the clutch on the winch was suffering from the previous overheating. A days work done
